Construction commences on MSC Bellissima, the third of eleven next-generation ships due to come into service over the next ten years

MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, and STX France, a world leader in the construction of innovative cruise ships, held a traditional steel cutting ceremony at STX France in Saint Nazaire on Monday to mark the official commencement of construction of MSC Bellissima, the second of the Meraviglia generation of ships that will come into service in 2019.The first steel plate that will form the ship’s hull section was cut in front of a group of employees from both companies to celebrate another important milestone for both partners. MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, and FINCANTIERI, heir to the great tradition of Italian shipbuilding and one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world, today celebrated the float out of MSC Seaside, one of two new groundbreaking mega-ships that MSC Cruises is bringing into service between June and December 2017. MSC Cruises – the first global cruise line to start serving Cuba since 2015 – introduces second ship to homeport in Havana, allowing international guests year-round cruises both in summer and in winter.

Geneva, Switzerland, 21 November 2016 – MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, today introduced a second ship, the recently fully refurbished MSC Armonia, to homeport in Havana alongside MSC Opera. Earlier today, MSC Armonia marked her traditional Maiden Call as she arrived in Havana on the final leg of her Grand Voyage from Genoa, Italy.
