The 100 day countdown has begun to the MSC Meraviglia christening in Le Havre, France on June 3rd 2017

With just 100 days to go until the christening of MSC Meraviglia – “the ship for all seasons”, discover 100 interesting facts (attached) about MSC Cruise’s new flagship and next-generation mega-ship. One of just four ships currently under construction and the first of 11 new ships set to come into service over the next ten years.

MSC Meraviglia has been designed to meet the needs of today’s cruise guest and is set to become this summer’s hottest destination at sea whilst spending her inaugural season in the Mediterranean.

MSC CRUISES BREAKS GROUND ON OCEAN CAY MSC MARINE RESERVE

MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and brand market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, today broke ground on Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Located south of Bimini in The Bahamas, the island is set to become a natural paradise exclusive to MSC Cruises guests as of November 2018. The Right Honourable Perry Gladstone Christie, Prime Minister of The Bahamas joined Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, at the official Groundbreaking Ceremony along with other Bahamian ministers and government officials. STX France and MSC Cruises Announce Coming into Force of Contract for “Meraviglia-Plus” Cruise Ships

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, confirmed the two options for “Meraviglia-Plus” ships on the occasion of MSC Meraviglia’s Coin Ceremony held on February 1st, 2016; MSC Cruises and STX France are now proud to announce this contract has come into force, with delivery due in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Saint-Nazaire, France and Geneva, Switzerland, 21 December 2016 – STX France and MSC Cruises today announced the coming into force of the final contract for two “Meraviglia-Plus” mega cruise ships. The two underlying options had been confirmed by MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago on February 1, 2016, now the two companies have agreed on all ship specifications hence construction will be able to begin in earnest in due time.
